In effect, the chronicles suggested that Washington was blindly paying Pakistan massive amounts of money for access to Afghanistan even as Islamabad uses its spy agency, ISI, to plot the death of American and Nato troops, allied Indian personnel, and undermines US policy. The most devastating leaks showed that Pakistan allows representatives of its spy service, ISI, to meet directly with the Taliban in secret strategy sessions to organize attacks against American soldiers in Afghanistan, and even hatch plots to assassinate Afghan leaders, including President Hamid Karzai.

And we thought yesterday it was only 500 million – LOOK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screw our out of work folks here – let’s go buy some friends………………………………:smileymad:

Pakistan leaders praise aid promises, but public is wary The U.S. secretary of State unveils plans for $500 million in infrastructure improvements. Pakistanis on the street wonder, what is the catch?

A massive economic aid package enacted last year, known as the Kerry-Lugar-Berman effort, is meant to reflect Washington’s desire to reshape the relationship with Islamabad. The package sets aside $7.5 billion over five years to help solve Pakistan’s biggest infrastructure dilemmas and seed economic development. The projects unveiled Monday are part of that package and are either underway or about to begin…………………….

………………………..When an ordinary Pakistani sees that the U.S. is building dams, he feels there is some kind of negative intent behind this,” said Kamran Rauf, 32, a management consultant in Islamabad. “The U.S. has to decide how they view Pakistan. Do they see Pakistan as a piece of tissue, to use and then throw away? Or do they see Pakistan as a valued partner to work with in coming years?”

Muhammad Yousaf, a 39-year-old tailor, was more blunt. “Whatever support the U.S. announces, they’re doing it to serve their own interests,” he said. “We don’t need the U.S. We want them to mind their own business and leave us as we are. We’ll be much better without them.”……………………………

Crank up those printing presses. Hillary just gave 500 million for the next five years to Pakistan. How about putting that money into our economy. We keep trying to buy allies, but end up getting stabbed in the back every time. How much aid did Pakistan send after our hurricane disasters, or the oil spill fiasco, or how much help have they given us fighting against the terrorists with out us paying for it…..ZERO !!! Yeah, go ahead and give them 7.5 billion, we don’t need it!

the federation on state board o physical therapy(FSBPT) suspended application for licensure exam for ALL graduates of Physical therapy program in the philippines and created a separate exam for us..a different exam,i bet much harder and difficult….
THIS MESSAGE IS FROM THEIR SITE, THE FSBPT.ORG SITE..

“In response to pervasive, ongoing security breaches by significant numbers of graduates of physical therapy schools from certain foreign countries, the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT or Federation) will suspend National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) testing for all graduates of schools located in those countries, pending the development of a separate, secure exam for those graduates (to be called the NPTE-YRLY). The affected individuals will include all graduates of physical therapy schools in Egypt, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

As a result, new registrations for both the PT and PTA versions of the NPTE have been suspended as of 11:59 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2010, for all graduates of physical therapy programs located in Egypt, India, Pakistan and the Philippines. Testing will resume once development of the NPTE-YRLY has been completed. The Federation expects to launch the NPTE-YRLY in or about the fall of 2011. Currently, the Federation intends to offer the NPTE-YRLY once per year, at select test sites to be identified at a later date.

The Federation will contact graduates from the affected physical therapy schools who have already registered for the NPTE to provide written instructions regarding when and under what conditions they will be able to take the NPTE. Jurisdiction physical therapy licensing authorities will be informed of the status of candidates from affected programs who have applied to their jurisdiction for licensure in separate correspondence.

This necessary security measure is in response to compelling evidence gathered by the Federation reflecting systematic and methodical sharing and distribution of recalled questions by significant numbers of graduates of programs in the affected countries, as well as several exam preparation companies specifically targeted to these graduates. This evidence was obtained through extensive forensic analyses of exam performances, as well as a variety of legal actions brought by the Federation in the United States and abroad. Most notably, this includes the raid and seizure of evidence from the St. Louis Review Center in Manila, Philippines, and its alleged owners/operators, Gerard L. Martin, Roger P. Tong-An and Carlito Balita, which revealed the widespread sharing of hundreds of live test items. In response, the Federation is pursuing criminal copyright prosecution against St. Louis Review Center and its owners, has invalidated the scores of several individuals believed to have unfairly benefitted from advance access to test questions, and has removed the compromised items from the exam.

The Federation’s ongoing investigative efforts have revealed that the sale and sharing of recalled test questions extends beyond this single test preparation company, and that the sharing of test items has continued despite its past efforts to ensure the security of the exam. “The National Physical Therapy Examination is a key element in assisting jurisdiction licensing boards and the Federation in assuring the public that licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are competent and safe practitioners. We view the security of the NPTE as the highest priority in our mission of public protection and, therefore, have used the best forensic and investigative techniques available to identify the problem and the perpetrators. Given the pervasive and continuing use of electronic technologies by graduates of these schools and some examination preparation companies – in spite of the harsh penalties imposed by the Federation – we believe that the NPTE-YRLY is the best solution to ensure the validity of all NPTE test results,” stated Federation President E. Dargan Ervin. “The Federation recognizes the significant consequences of this policy decision, but feels that it needs to be made clear to all candidates that the Federation will not tolerate security breaches. We will continue to use and add security measures to protect against possible future breaches and will not hesitate to add other groups to the list restricted to the NPTE-YRLY if we obtain sufficient evidence that members of additional groups may be obtaining an unfair advantage on the NPTE or otherwise jeopardizing the integrity of the exam.”

The mission of the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy is to protect the public by providing service and leadership that promote safe and competent physical therapy practice. The members of the Federation comprise the 50 state physical therapy licensing boards, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The Federation’s vision is that the organization will achieve a high level of public protection through a strong foundation of laws and regulatory standards in physical therapy, effective tools and systems to assess entry-level and continuing competence, and public and professional awareness of resources for public protection.

can anyone help us,we think this is discrimination..we want to take the exam just like the rest of the physical therapy graduates..how do we deal with this legally?

The Associated Press has published its account of an interview with France’s former top counterterrorism judge, Jean-Louis Bruguiere. In the late 1990s, Bruguiere investigated the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief. The group is better known by its Turkish acronym, the IHH. This is the group that organized the flotilla that was interdicted by Israeli forces earlier this week.

Bruguiere says the IHH has “clear, long-standing ties to terrorism and Jihad.” In particular, Bruguiere says he discovered that the IHH played a role in al Qaeda’s millennium plot against the LAX airport in California.

The AP writes (emphasis added):

Bruguiere, who led the French judiciary’s counterterrorism unit for nearly two decades before retiring in 2007, didn’t indicate whether IHH now has terror ties, but said it did when he investigated it in the late 1990s.

“They were basically helping al-Qaida when (Osama) bin Laden started to want to target U.S. soil,” he said.

Some members of an international terrorism cell known as the Fateh Kamel network then worked at the IHH, he said. Kamel, an Algerian-Canadian dual national, had ties to the nascent al-Qaida, Bruguiere said.(snip)

___________________________

Mr Bruguière testified at the US trial of Ahmed Ressam, dubbed the Millennium Bomber, that the IHH had played an important role in a failed plot to bomb Los Angeles airport. A 2006 report by the Danish Institute for International Studies described the group as a front for funding terrorist organisations and sending Mujahidin to fight in countries such as Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya. The IHH, which is not on US or European terrorist lists, denies accusations of ties to terrorist groups. The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Centre (ITIC) — an Israel-based NGO with close ties to the country’s military — does not dispute the IHH’s legitimate philanthropic activities, but it says it is an overt supporter of Hamas, branded by Israel, the EU and US as a terrorist organisation. The ITIC says it has evidence that the IHH has helped to provide weapons and funds for Islamic terrorist groups in the Middle East. The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that some security officials believed there was a link between the ship, which was purchased for the trip by the IHH, and Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK).

The IHH had been unable to charter a ship for the risky voyage, and had resorted to buying the Mavi Marmara for €900,000 (£750,000); money it said it had raised from its members in Turkey. It also bought the 10,000 tonnes of aid intended for Gaza, including electric wheelchairs and pre-fabricated houses. General Richard Myers, former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, told The Times yesterday that there was substantial evidence of some charitable organisations being exploited by extremist groups for their own ends. “A lot of wealthy benefactors providing donations for humanitarian relief don’t know what they’re funding. They think they’re doing something for welfare and education,” he said. As Israel began deporting hundreds of foreign activists detained when its commandos stormed the Gaza aid flotilla, fresh details emerged yesterday of the group’s preparations for the raid. According to reports in the Israeli press, some of the men who tackled the commandos were equipped with night-vision goggles, gas masks and life vests. Others had ceramic vests to stop bullets, security officials said. About a hundred of the passengers were carrying wads of $10,000 on them — a total of about $1 million; money the authorities say was bound for Hamas, which controls Gaza. Vahdettin Kaygan, a spokesman for IHH, denied accusations that it had links with militant Islamist groups and said that it operated as a charity in 120 countries around the world. It was set up in 1992 to help Bosnian Muslims and had carried out missions in Pakistan, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Indonesia and Iraq, as well as running previous aid ships to Gaza.

Turkish “charity” with ties to terror groups. Insani Yardim Vakfi, or IHH, has aided Islamic Totalitarian organizations, including Hamas, and has fueled Islamic sectarian violence, most notably in Iraq during 1997 in which the group assisted a Sunni insurgency. Some of the passengers of the flotilla are also believed to have ties to global jihadist organizations. who is IHH??? The IHH has a radical Islamic orientation and is closely related to the extremist Islamic brotherhood. As part of this outlook, the IHH supports the Hamas terrorist organization and does not bother to hide its affiliation with Hamas. In recent years, primarily since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip, the IHH has organized public conferences in Turkey to demonstrate its support for Hamas, and senior Hamas officials have openly participated in these public displays. At these conferences, the heads of the IHH have expressed their uncompromising support for Hamas and its tactics, including its armed warfare on civilians and its defiance of the Palestinian Authority headed by Abu Mazen and Salam Fayyad. As part of the “charity coalition,” the IHH is affiliated with Hamas fund raising organizations around the world, providing substantial amounts of money for joint projects to support the Hamas regime and its institutions in the Gaza Strip and on the West Bank.

These are “charity” organizations that belong to the Hamas terrorist movement and are controlled by senior Hamas activists. They include the Islamic Charity Organization in Hebron, which is considered the largest Hamas organization on the West Bank, and the Al-tadamun Benevolent Society in Nablus, another one of the major Hamas “charity” organizations – both of which have been outlawed in Israel for the same reason. The IHH conducts many activities in Gaza and even established a branch in Gaza City to promote its operations there. In January 2008, an IHH delegation met with Ahmad Bahar, a senior Hamas activist who is chairman of the legislative council of the Hamas regime in Gaza. During the meeting, the delegation described the scope of assistance that the IHH had provided to the Gaza Strip during the previous year and said that in future it would double that amount. To promote its activities, in November 2009 the IHH sent one of its activists, Azat Shahin, to open another branch on the West Bank. Shahin began work on establishing the new branch and even transferred tens of thousands of dollars from the IHH to the Hamas organizations mentioned above. However, these activities were halted by his arrest for questioning in April 2010 on suspicion of financing terrorism and supporting the Hamas terrorist organization. At the request of Turkish officials, he was deported from Israel after conclusion of the investigation in Israel. In summary, the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (the IHH), which has been outlawed in Israel, is now considered a significant player in the Hamas global fund raising machine. It is a radical Islamic organization associated with the Islamic Brotherhood, and does not conceal its support of Hamas and its ideology of terrorism. The IHH maintains direct contacts with senior Hamas officials and even organizes and participates in various conferences that are identified with the Islamic Brotherhood and Hamas.

CIA denies claims it has been backing Jundullah, the Sunni separatist group which has claimed responsibility for the bombs.

Personally, I believe the CIA dude.

Interesting at the bottom of the article, Hillary Clintoon:

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, condemned the explosions and expressed condolences to relatives of the victims. “This attack, along with the recent attacks in Uganda, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Algeria, underscores the global community’s need to work together to combat terrorist organisations that threaten the lives of innocent civilians all around the world,” she said.

Did she really use the word terrorist? She’s in big trouble now!

KAMPALA, Uganda — In simultaneous bombings bearing the hallmarks of international terrorists, two explosions ripped through crowds watching the World Cup final in two places in Uganda’s capital late Sunday, killing 64 people, police said. One American was killed and several were wounded.

The deadliest attack occurred at a rugby club as people watched the game between Spain and the Netherlands on a large-screen TV outdoors. The second blast took place at an Ethiopian restaurant, where at least three Americans were wounded.

Kampala’s police chief said he believed Somalia’s most feared militant group, al-Shabab, could be responsible for the attack. Al-Shabab is known to have links with al-Qaida, and it counts militant veterans from the Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan conflicts among its ranks.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/11/uganda-bomb-world-cup_n_642336.html

The explosions came just two days after an al-Shabab commander, Sheik Muktar Robow, called for militants to attack sites in Uganda and Burundi — two nations that contribute troops to the African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia.

A head and legs were found at the rugby club, suggesting a suicide bomber may have been to blame, an AP reporter at the scene said.

I feel for the troops.

I feel for the troops. I know that a lot of you are goung to disagree but what a waste. Patreas says we are going to win. This whole thing is going down as the straw that broke the camels back. WE ARE BROKE PEOPLE! But everyone looks the other way and says “but its ok to go broke in Afghanistan. Keep borrowing money to fight that war! Just make sure that you close down schools in the USA.” I know that we were attacked on 9-11 but we have really screwed this thing up. Osama was the attacker, not Afghanistan. He is supposidly in Pakistan. So why are we not in Pakistan chasing him? I know we have drone attacks but why are we in Afghainstan, STILL? We are going to be just like the Russians were. Kicked out and BROKE! Reagan didnt win the cold war like all of the republicans say. Afghanistan broke their bank like it is doing ours. I know that this opinion probably does not go along with Comcast opinion so it will probably be censored, but that is how I feel. GET OUT OF AFGHANISTAN AND START WORKING ON THIS COUNTRY.
