Have you received your letter from U.S. Census Bureau?

I just received a one page letter today. It’s signed by Robert M. Groves-Director U.S. Census Bureau

You won’t believe this? The letter is announcing that in one week I will be receiving a census form in the mail.

How much did this letter cost? We could estimate the number of households in America and then we paid for the mailing under permit no. g58. Why did I need an advance letter?

Amazing? This is their idea of cost cutting and eficiency???? This is laughable…

Here is the best part.

The entire letter is written in English, as it should be, accept for a one liner under Groves signature that says

Go to 2010 census.gov for help completing your 2010 census form when it arrives…

then this same sentence is repeated in 5 different languages.

Spanish,Chinese,Japanese,Korean,Arab….amazing-this is America and this should be written only in English.

March 9 (Bloomberg) — Vice President Joe Biden will meet with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem as Israel and the Palestinians accepted a plan for indirect talks amid a fresh quarrel over West Bank settlements.

Biden meets today with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres after U.S. envoy George Mitchell secured agreement on the new round of discussions aimed at reviving direct negotiations. Biden travels to Palestinian Authority headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah tomorrow to follow up on the plan with President Mahmoud Abbas.

Mitchell asked “the parties, and all concerned, to refrain from any statements or actions which may inflame tensions or prejudice the outcome of these talks.” I wonder who he’s talking to?……pay attention Joe…I think he means YOU!!!

The fact that it has taken more than a year for Mitchell to arrange indirect talks indicates how “dire” the situation has become between the two sides, said Jonathan Spyer, a political scientist at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, near Tel Aviv.

The mediation effort is a “pleasant illusion” to avoid confronting the fact that the “positions are irreconcilable,” Spyer said. “It’s kicking the ball down the road for a few more years when someone else will have to deal with the problem.”

President Barack Obama raised Arab hopes that the U.S. would apply pressure to Israel with a June 4 speech in Cairo in which he called for a total settlement freeze. Arab leaders expressed disappointment five months later when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged that a complete construction halt is unrealistic and praised Netanyahu’s proposal for a limited 10-month freeze as “unprecedented.”

Pot dealer’s new freedom goes up in smoke

A 27-year-old man convicted of dealing marijuana was arrested this morning, when police say he was smoking pot on his way home from prison.

Sir James Smith, Indianapolis, was being driven by his wife from Putnamville Correctional Facility when police pulled over their car for a license plate infraction on the 4500 block of west Washington Street at 2 a.m.

Sharmainique Royal, 21, Indianapolis, was driving the white Nisasan Sentra with the couple’s 11-month old daughter, Sir’ir Royal, and friend, Shaneka Williams, 20, Indianapolis, in the back seat, according to the police report.

Police found a small amount of marijuana in the car and preliminarily charged Smith, Royal and Williams with possession of marijuana and neglect of a dependent for smoking in the presence of the baby.

He had been sentenced previously to two years in prison on the same charge………(snip)

Lets see…………coming home from prison from his 2nd stint in prison for dealing weed……Sir Smith has a great idea…………fire it up!

despite that lightning passed through it while he was riding a bicycle close to the village of Perkovci during a thunderstorm.

I admit my knowledge of physics is limited, but I don’t get why the rubber tires would have made any difference. The lightning hit Mr Jurkovic, after all. It went straight through him to the ground, what difference does it make whether there was a thin piece of rubber on the way or not?
