So I made a stupid mistake. After having never received a ticket in the past, I got caught auto racing on a public road, and here in Virginia, that is an automatic 6 month minimum license suspension. Aside from fines and what I’m sure will be much higher insurance premiums, that 6 month suspension of my drivers license is exactly what I got. In six months (this coming April) I can go to the DMV and they will reinstate my license.

But I need to get from point A to point B, so I’m considering driving anyway. Consider these points:

1. This was a one time isolated incident of stupidity, and I happened to get caught. Prior to this, I had a clean driving record. Ergo, not doing anything to get myself pulled over shouldn’t be a problem. Therefore, if I drive as normal over the next six months, and I stay at the speed limit, come to a complete stop at every stop area, and signal every turn, basically not do anything to get myself pulled over, then I probably won’t.

2. Likewise, I be as defensive a driver as ever. Give distance, shift lanes slowly etc. Do nothing that could cause a crash.

3. I know that if I encounter a police officer in ANY situation that involves me driving, they will ask to see my license and run it through the system. So lets look at worst case scenario and assume someone rear ends me or I’m otherwise involved in a collision that was entirely the fault of the other driver.

As long as I don’t reveal to them that I was driving without a license, I’m golden. I take down their information, and be a nice guy and let them off the hook upon them paying me whatever the mechanical damages turn out to be. Since they caused the wreck, they will be more than happy to NOT get the police or their insurance company involved since their rates would go up.

And lets say that for some crazy reason they end up not paying me. Then in my county small claims courts are separate from traffic courts, so I can sue them without revealing my license was suspended.

4. I know the holidays are coming up, and it will be random DUI checkpoint central. So Thanksgiving through New years, I just have my live-in girlfriend do the driving when we go out. I don’t need a license to be a passenger.

Following these precautions over the next six months, is there any way I could realistically get caught?

I’m a senior in high school and is thinking about going into real estate development. I’m thinking of buying houses for cheap, renovate it, and rent it out. So, does majoring in civil engineering teach me how to renovate buildings? because I hear that the bachelor degree in civil engineering teaches you only the full sprectrum of civil engineering (ex; coastal, environmental, transportation) and not specifically structural.

We paid for a real mess of a home from a friend in 2002 for $ 11,500. We spent quite a bit fixing it up but did save since we did the work ourselves and then we rented it out. Last year, 2007, the house caught fire and at first we started cleaning it up and then decide we couldn’t do all that work again and weren’t sure we liked being landlords so we kept the insurance check and just sold the burned out shell for $ 5,000. I was told that the insurance money didn’t have to be taxed but I’m not sure if I put on our taxes that the house sold for $ 5,000 or if I need to include the insurance money minus the money we spent before we decided not to fix it up. I usually do our taxes at home using Taxcut Premium.
I can see by the response so far that this is something I shouldn’t try to handle myself, now my problem is who do I trust to help me, CPA, regular tax outlet like H & R Block. I’ve always done my own and could handle it but don’t know wher to turn for help.

In a typical episode, a patient spends 3-4 days in the ICU, four full-time doctors and many tests, surgeries, etc. have cost in the real world, this should be a small fortune! Would insurance cover? Has anyone worked roughly how much would it cost?

I have a Compaq Mini Notebook, Intel Atom, I have Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1.

(don’t say I dont know what I’m doing or anything like that or take it to a professional, First of, thats irrelevant! which means you don’t know what your doing because you can’t answer a simple question, & two, I can’t afford to take it to a professional) I know theres someone online who can help me with this, I get advice from these computer genesis on yahoo all the time, so PLEASE, one of you help me? (by the way, I only have one hard drive, my C-drive so should I uninstall or clean it out? If cleaning how do i do that, because it won’t let me sort or delete partitions)

I paid for a car from a dealer yesterday and he is going to have it MOT’d for me. I paid for insurance online but the cover note will take 4-5 days to arrive in the post. What shall I do about road tax? I can’t apply for it without an insurance cover note.

I don’t have anywhere to park the car except for the street in front of my house. I’m scared I may get clamped. Any advice?
