I am trying to find out if Farmers auto insurance settles quicker than Nationwide insurance and vice versa. I have Farmers auto and home insurance now and considering a move to Nationwide.
I have paid my car off to my mom. She paid for it initially and is the listed owner of the vehicle. I’m twenty years old.
Since she is the owner does that mean she will always have to be the primary driver listed on the insurance? If I move out after I graduate in a few months, do I need to get my own insurance plan on the car or stay on hers? I plan to keep her house as my permanent address for at least a few years until I really settle down. It would be cheaper to stay on the plan with her, but can I do that if I don’t live in the same household?
I’m the secondary driver on the car. So, I do have insurance and I pay her the cost of insuring the vehicle. I know how irresponsible it is to not have insurance and would never risk putting myself in a situation like that. I just want to know if I can remain the secondary driver for convenience and financial reasons. It’s cheaper to have her be the main driver and I don’t want the hassle of transferring titles when I’m probably going to get a different car in my name in a few years. I just want to know if I can stay the secondary driver until I get a vehicle in my name.

A little over a year ago, my father passed away (who was 57 years old) leaving no assets or life insurance. This left mum with nothing but their personal possessions. They didn’t own their own home and mum couldn’t afford to stay in the house that they were renting. She has now moved in with myself, my husband and 2 kids.
Her family convinced her that this was her only option, and it has been left to us to work something out. We would love to build her a granny flat, but we cant afford to pay for it and mum cant afford the repayments if we got a loan.
My question is; How do I cope financially and most importantly emotionally, because it is already putting strain on my relationship with my husband and also with my mum.
Mum also doesn’t like to say what she thinks, but will undermine me with the way I parent my kids.
Sorry this is long, I really need some advice.
Thanks for listening.

First article is about employers who provide health care talking about the taxes and burdens that will be placed on them from the new proposed health plan and how it will require a reduction in wages, jobs, and hours, according the the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. (which health care from work is currently extremely cheap and has complete coverage).

Second article talks about non employee health insurance, that the same organization which Obama trusts to do un bias research has also claimed that those outside of job based plans would expect to see a 10% increase to the costs of their plans.
Is it loony to be somewhat fearful of the current shift in progress?
Do you think small scale tests within states should be tried first?
What are your thoughts on this?
Hi. Please help! My father will help me fund my education if I can get a full time job that will give me medical and dental insurance and that pays more than minimum wage. The job has to be in South Florida or at home. The catch is that I only have an Associates Degree in Biology and the only work experience I have is working with college students for two years. I can write and speak in Spanish well and I have taken a bunch of computer and chemistry classes. What jobs can I get with the condition he has set and what approach should I use to land the job? I really want to continue with my education. I really need this opportunity. Thanks, in advance!
I made a contract for the house one week ago.Now I am waiting for the reply from the seller about the home inspection results. Because the settlement date is in the middle of april, I want to buy homeowner’s insurance as fast as possible. But if the seller nulls the contract (because of the home inspection contingency), or if the mortgage application does not go through, I will waste my money by buying the homeowners insurance so fast. What timing should I buy the insurance? Thanks in advance.
So tonight I remember I was supposed to call and pay our renewal for our homeowners insurance. I called and they were closed. They don’t reopen until Monday. Our policy expires at 12:01am tomorrow. They don’t have an option to pay online either. Can they cancel us or charge any crazy fees for being two days late? Obviously I plan to make the full payment Monday…If they will let me. Any advice??
I am in Ohio and we have never been late before…
we just had a fire in our house. we were renting that house and we had contents insurance. after contacting the insurance people, that came to our house once and took some photos, then they didn’t come. when we contacted them again they said that they are waiting for fire brigade’s report. can anyone tell me how long these whole procedure will take?
I know I’ll have to pay $ 95 penalty for not buying insurance beforehand but if they let this loophole stand, why not take advantage of it.
