Aren’t these the same people who want to buy flood insurance AFTER the river is getting mighty high?
… the rest of us and buy health and fire insurance BEFORE we get sick or our house catches on fire?
One time, I left a job and paid for COBRA. Then I paid for my own insurance. No one asks you if you have a pre-existing condition if you stay insured. They have to insure you if you have recently had insurance.
home warranty wants $ 300.00 deductable to send someone out for termites/bugs. would it be cheaper not to have it in the contract?
Hello,
My question is, does anyone know how insurance companies decide if an area has a high crime rate? Do they just go by recorded crimes that have had claims through insurance or any recorded crimes regardless?
I have been interested in getting home insurance as my parents don’t have it for our house and I have quite a few expensive things I would like to ensure. When I tried getting quotes from some of the big home insurance company websites, the quotes were very high (double the amount my friend got) – He lives near Kings Lynn in a Town, I live near to Stansted Airport in a quiet village with a population of around 250. The crime in the area is non existant. The only thing I can think of that could be causing the higher quote is there is an old lady who lives in a bungalow on the same post code as us who has been burgled 3 times no less whilst she has been in the house. THis has been the only crime in the area for years and years, I am pretty sure she does not have insurance
My uncle got tints with 3 years warranty and payed $ 120.00..Does anyone know of any places that might be slightly cheaper and do a Really Good job…And no i won’t do them at home or do them by myself..I’d rather get them done thanks!!!
when I move out and switch addresses….what approach should I take with the insurance company….god forbid I get into an accident and dont live with my parents anymore..
I am the beneficiary to a life insurance policy that my Uncle issued and died a year ago.He was in a nursing home in Massachusetts until his death and medicare took all his assets and cashed them in for his care during his stay at the nursing home. His life insurance company has been mailing me for me to send them the death obligation and to fill out the form so they can send/deposit the life insurance policy check in my bank account.I called and I asked the insurance representative if I was truly entitled to that check and after a long wait of her asking her supervisor, she came back and assured me that I can accept this life insurance policy check without any fear of fraud, and that the government was not going to put me in jail if I used this life insurance money. She assured me I don’t need a lawyer to fill out the basic form and send it back with the death obligation and they will send me the check or deposit it into my bank account. Please , I need some advise. I could really use the money(can’t we all) but I do not want to risk jail or a fine trying to get back on my feet.. I know I will need to pay taxes on this cash if it is legally mine but I don’t even know the correct form to get. Thanks!
can an uncle make me a beneficiary on life insuranceOkay, my husband and I were driving down the highway when a 97 mazda truck hit our 2010 honda Odyssey (which we only had for four months) at 75mph. When they hit our fan the collision crashed us into the guard rail violation the axel of our van and then the truck went flipping down 95. The passenger of that vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and died on impact. My husband and I suffered severe whiplash, my husband was out of work for a week, I stay at home and continued to have lots of swelling in my neck and hip but extremely minor compared to the passenger of the other vehicle. We found out that the driver of this vehicle was not insured and our insurance picked up the medical bills and payed off our van. Now…My husband and I went to get another vehicle but was given a high interest rate because we had a few issues with our credit. Now that we won’t accept paying a ridiculously high payment for a new car we are at a loss. Should we try to negotiate a decent settlement check for our accident from our own insurance company or get an attorney???? Please no rude comments. We did not want to sue because we did not want to inflict any more pain on the family that lost their loved one.
I just want to add that the driver of that vehicle is not dead and from what the police the report states, neither the driver nor the passenger was the owner of the truck.
There was an advertisement mailed to the home I’m currently renting addressed to “current resident” and outlined that the home is scheduled for Trustee Sale on Nov. 3rd by a law firm on behalf of the lender. I did some digging online and called the law firm to confirm and it’s true. We just moved in on July 17th – 3 months ago and signed a 2 year rental agreement with a realty company that’s acting as a third party handling the renting process between us and the owner.
The property manager nor I had any idea that the home was in the foreclosure process and that there is an auction scheduled at the local county court for November. He contacted the owner and the owner stated that they’re going through a ‘loan modification’ and are ‘confident it won’t be foreclosed on’. Should I believe this without any doubt and carry on with life as though this never happened? Should I be concerned that the bank may in fact choose to sell the property anyways? My mother told me to hold onto the rent that’s due Nov. 1st until Nov. 4th in case the home is sold because the rent we pay for the month of November may not be due to the homeowner [as he may no longer own the home]. I know you’re obligated to pay rent to the landlord so long as you’re living there but I’m also aware that the agreement between myself and the landlord is damaged once the sale goes through. Is this sound advice?
Also, do you think we should just mangle our lease after this stress and find another place to live? I’m guessing this loan modification/foreclosure threats/auction sale business implies that the homeowner is having trouble paying their mortgage on the house… Not sure if we wish to be renting from someone under financial duress. Hubby deploys in January and I’d hate to end up having to move/argue with the bank next year if this happens again and the bank forecloses on the home.
This is in Cumming, GA. My hubby spoke with someone in the JAG dept and they said there’s nothing they can do for us other than suggest an Atlanta attorney; I was a little shocked.
Asked this question the other day [first question on yahoo answers] and set it up for voting on the answers 4-5 hours after – without realizing that no one else can answer after that. hah Apologize for the duplicate, I’m still searching for some good advice.
The family of a guy I am with builds furniture. Its a family bussiness. Anyway they have a web page up, but has not gotten any sale from it. Reason is, not many no there is a site. The address is www.haydenpaul.com . How do I promote the site To aid in sales?.
