6 mos. ago we paid for our dream house (it is old but well kept )anyways we are all at work and school and some old guy did the impossible and plowed into the corner of our house (keep in mind we are on an acreage and the house sits at the very back off the acreage–we assume he panicked and hit the gas instead of the stop when he hit the curb to send him careening that far into our yard. It has now been a month–his insurance company wont do anything and their adjuster refused to assess the damage as our custom hand laid section is damaged and will need to be replaced…our insurance company says they will pay but not for replacement only repair and they are now trying to send out adjuster number 3 to low ball us…..we need this fixed and the only way to properly do so is to replace….we have 2 estimates and 3 other masonry places that wont even estimate it due to the custom hand cut hand laid job….any adivce??….hate to miss the 6th days pay for another adjuster to come out….

Is there a way I can insure my house and appliances opposite tenant’s vandalism (specially in the circumstance where they are going to be evicted)?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!someone who understands law, help me!I own the leasehold flat and today I received the letter from my management company saying that they have been advised by the Insurance companu that our ground floors of the building have problems with soil stack which has to be replaced. according to them, even if some of the flats are not effected, the whole pype going througth all the floors will have to be altered and residents will have to be re-acomodated for at least 3-4months!!!!! I’m on the top floor, and clearly dont have any problems with soil stack, even more,as I wasn’t informed about this before, redecorated my whole flat just a month ago!this includes re-doing a whole bathroom and tiling it. I’m in a total shock as they are saying that they will have to nock off most of the walls in my flat leavinf only the main one. Do I have any rights to prevent this???Should they given me a longer notice?Do they have a right to remove me from my flat for at least 4months??HELP!!
By the way its in UK
by the way,if they have a right to re-accomodate me and my family, can I ask them to pay for my expenses for re-decoration(rebuilding) of the flat?

I live in the 2nd floor of condominium and my water heater leaked all over the unit below me. I don’t have homeowner’s insurance when it happened but I purchased one yesterday. Do you think it’s okay to make a claim? Help! I’m running out of time.

I am in the mortgage industry and i assume it would be an easy layup to cross sell homeowners insurance with every mortgage transaction.

Any input from an experienced broker/agent?

My husband and I sold a piece of rental property six months ago and it was the first piece of property either of us had ever sold. We assumed that the insurance company would be notified through the mortgage company, title company…somebody…but we did not think it was our responsibility to do so. Maybe that was a huge, ignorant oversight on our part, I don’t know. At any rate, the insurance company called today because our mortgage company has not paid them recently, which is what triggered us to realize that maybe we were at fault for not contacting them about the sale of the property. What is the proper process? Was that our responsiblity or someone else’s? Sorry if this is a dumb question. We really didn’t know.
