emergency alarms, bracelets, etc
How many have them or use them? Any family members have them?
A week ago saturday, My BIL, had what turned out to be strokes….He was alone downstairs shutting down his computer and fell off his chair, crawled to his bedroom and caught his breath etc. Next day he mentioned it to my sister and she advised seeing a doctor which he did. Tests showed he had had a stroke and also had a blockage in an artery in his neck which they treated and he is home now.
But, had it been worse I doubt he would have been able to alert my sister who was upstairs? My aunt lived alone and fell at the bottom of her basement steps and broke her hip. She was there for a couple of hours till someone heard her banging a baseball bat against the stairs. She died unfortunately, after the surgery to repair the hip. Her son could have well afforded the ‘help me I have fallen’ bracelet and the costs connected with it but didn’t think it was needed.
Wife has a cheap alarm mounted on her night stand that I should upgrade but it would be heard in the house if pushed. It is battery operated.
So I was just curious as to what you think?

is no joke.
